Recommended in-wall and in-ceiling speakers – Klark&Helmer iQ6 – An in-wall speaker with technological superiority

Klark&Helmer iQ6

The iQ6 in-wall speaker belongs to the brand Klark&Helmer and is part of the iQ series of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. This model wasn’t initially planned to be the flagship of the company, but soon after it was launched, it has become the company’s most popular one, and in some places also the highest selling compared to other companies. Today the iQ6 is considered the best in-wall and in-ceiling speaker in the world.

What makes the iQ6 the best in the world?

if you ask any speaker manufacturer which is the hardest kind of speaker to make – They’ll answer without thinking that it’s the in-wall or in-ceiling kind. They are the trickiest and require a different attitude than any other speaker or PA system. The in-wall speaker is supposed to do its job in the near-vacuum of the wall where it’s tightly squeezed and has very little air flow to work with.

Here are some of the things that turned the iQ6 to one of the best in the world:

  • Frequency response – The Klark&Helmer iQ6 has a super accurate built-in crossover, and its overall mechanism enables both a wide frequency response and a fast response time – thus realistically recreating the waveform.
  • Adjustable sound image – It has been said that one must choose a speaker considering the conditions of the room. While this is true, what if we told you the speaker can adjust itself to the room? The iQ6 can adjust it’s bass performance to the room by measuring the difference in amplitude of reflecting frequencies.
  • Design – The iQ6 is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. Its components have been crafted by experts using the most durable material (a silicon made woofer). In addition – the speaker has an ultra-thin frame (Frameless) which causes it to seamlessly dissolve into the wall/ceiling.
  • multifunctionality – This model can be used in numerous different settings – whether you want an outdoor speaker for the balcony, an underwater speaker for the pool, or an indoor speaker for the home theatre. It has a power handling of 160W and Sensitivity of 92 dB @ 2.83V / 1.2m

Is it mandatory to buy a back-box?

A back-box serves as sort of a resonating soundbox for the speaker, keeping low frequencies from “escaping” and absorbing into the ceiling or wall. but note that the iQ6 doesn’t need a back-box if you install it in drywall, since it already has its own soundbox. You will however need a back-box to install the speaker in a concrete wall.
